The Feelgood Festival in Oslo

Last week, I was invited to take part in the Feelgood Literary Festival held at Cappelen Damm publishers in Oslo. There were a mix of international and Norwegian authors, brought together because their novels fit into the genre of ‘feel good.’ And we were made to feel good ourselves, because our Norwegian publishers gave us such a warm and hospitable welcome.

We all did some social media filming and interviews, plus afternoon interviews on stage (mine was with the lovely Christoffer Holst from Sweden).

In the evening there was a romantic backdrop to our second interviews, this time with Sarah Natasha Melbye.

We also visited the bookshops in Oslo for signings…

And met readers and authors at the festival, who were interested in our books.

If this sounds like a lot of hard work… there was also the chance to explore the beautiful city of Oslo. The sun was shining and so I went on a silent electric boat trip up the fjord and beyond.

And also visited the famous Vigeland sculpture park in the Frogner Park with more than 200 sculptures by Gustav Vigeland (1869–1943) in bronze, granite and cast iron.

An amazing experience. Thanks so much to my lovely Norwegian publishers Cappelen Damm for hosting me.
